Cranford House Plastic Surgery offer skin checks and treatment for skin cancer in Adelaide
Skin cancer kills over 2,000 Australians each year, and over 750,000 Australians are diagnosed and treated annually. To put it another way: 2 out of every 3 Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the time they are 70.
Skin cancer checks
Most cases of skin cancer in Australia are not life-threatening, however the only way to be sure is with regular skin checks. At Cranford House Plastic Surgery we offer skin checks to help you stay safe, and skin cancer free. There are three main types of skin cancer:
- Melanoma (most dangerous skin cancer)
- Basal cell carcinoma
- Squamous cell carcinoma
The second and third type of cancer are non-melanoma skin cancers and are twice as common in men than women.
One of the Cranford House Plastic Surgery team can perform a biopsy. This is where a small sample of skin is taken for examination under a microscope.
Skin cancer treatments
We offer cryotherapy, skin graft construction and skin flaps reconstruction. Dr Lam is a specialist plastic and reconstructive surgeon who will work closely with you to help you achieve the right result.
